Cyclocross Meeting

On a Sunday in late November (2023 date Sunday 26th Nov) Twickenham CC puts on a cyclocross event at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit.

The event is part of the Central Region Cyclocross League and has acted in recent years as the Regional Championships. The weather has been ‘kind’ to us and has provided the sort of mud bath that ‘cross riders seem to love and even snow on one occasion. The 2023 edition attracted more than 350 riders in categories from Under-10s to Vets 60+.

The club provides a well-stocked refreshment counter in the HQ with sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks and the ever-popular hot soup and bread.

The event is run in the fond memory of our much-missed president Graham ‘Mac’ MacNamee who often cited cyclocross as “the most fun you can have on a bike.” You can read more about Mac’s amazing life and achievements by clicking the link below.

This is a volunteering opportunity for TCC members not racing.

In fact, there is so much preparation involved in the days leading up to the event, that you can volunteer and race as well!
