This week, 9 laps of the Staple Hill circuit were followed by 9 of Valley End. The TCC pair of Mark Spindler(18th) and Alex Pantelides (22nd), and associate member Shane Pope (Swindon RC) were active throughout, with Mark showing well at the front of the field and contributing to the breakaways.
With 5 laps left, the familiar sight of a Paul Holdsworth (Hounslow) attack looked like it world stick for once, but he was soon joined byColin McDermott (Festival RC), with McDermott taking the flag ahead of Holdsworth.

So what's Rollapaluza roller-racing?
Rollapaluza are dedicated to reviving the sport of roller-racing. Two
cyclists battle it out on a pair of vintage rollers connected to a huge
dial over a simulated 500m distance at speeds in excess of 50mph!
This is your chance to give roller-racing a go. Everyone, 7 years of
age and above, is encouraged to try it out. The top qualifiers go into
an elimination knock out, leading to quarter, semis and an exciting
final.
Rollapaluza events are well known for their atmosphere, so it promises
to be another fun afternoon following on from last year’s inaugural TCC
success. (www.rollapaluza.com)
Roller Racing was a very popular sport in the UK back in the forties
and fifties with events drawing huge crowds to ballrooms, cinemas and
even luxury hotels such as the Savoy. Since 2000 Rollapaluza have been
dedicated to reviving this near forgotten sport in the UK, all
Rollapaluza events have music to recreate the old roller-race format in
a
contemporary style.
