After 10 gruelling laps of the Staple Hill circuit and then another 10 of Kitsmead Lane, the second race in this year's Series was won by Ashley Holding of VC Meudon from a steadily-increased break of about nine, our own Mark Spindler finishing with the remains of the bunch half a minute later.
It was a wet day for marshal and rider alike, so of course there were many punctures, and well done to Mark for managing to avoid these this week and finish what looked like a very hard race.
Thanks again to Lisa, Jason, Warren, Steve, Orlando, Rob, Barbara, Natalie, John, Des, & Dave for marshalling in less that tropical climes. Last Round next week.

So what's Rollapaluza roller-racing?
Rollapaluza are dedicated to reviving the sport of roller-racing. Two
cyclists battle it out on a pair of vintage rollers connected to a huge
dial over a simulated 500m distance at speeds in excess of 50mph!
This is your chance to give roller-racing a go. Everyone, 7 years of
age and above, is encouraged to try it out. The top qualifiers go into
an elimination knock out, leading to quarter, semis and an exciting
final.
Rollapaluza events are well known for their atmosphere, so it promises
to be another fun afternoon following on from last year’s inaugural TCC
success. (www.rollapaluza.com)
Roller Racing was a very popular sport in the UK back in the forties
and fifties with events drawing huge crowds to ballrooms, cinemas and
even luxury hotels such as the Savoy. Since 2000 Rollapaluza have been
dedicated to reviving this near forgotten sport in the UK, all
Rollapaluza events have music to recreate the old roller-race format in
a
contemporary style.
