Twickenham had two teams entered in the Antelope 3 Up in Princes Risborough in The Chilterns. Dave Peck, Steve Home and Damon Yates were in one team with Jo Foster, Emma Williams and Susie Scorer in the second team.
Dave Peck Summarises:-
"We did 50 km (30.07 miles) in 1:13:12, an average speed of 25.46 mph, and if it had been a "25", we'd have done it in 58:55 at that pace. I hurt. We rode round the circuit first, 20 miles of warming up beforehand made it over 50 miles in total. Steve did about twice as much work as Damon and I, but we didn't want to slow him down too much by getting on the front".
"The course record is in the 1:03s, so we were well off the pace, and there were some pretty serious looking cyclists yet to finish when we left. Brilliant day, though. Really glad we made the effort, and good to see TCC Ladies represented by Emma, Jo and Susie. Results to come.".
The first round of the 2010 Womens Team Series kicked off on Sunday. The 53 mile race promoted by Lisa West was a great success and the 80 plus field enjoyed some attacking racing on the rolling Drift Road Circuit. The opening pace of the race saw the bunch reduced down to 50. The sprint was won by Hannah Barnes followed by Hannah Walker and Laura Trott.
