1. I agree to
………………………………………… taking part in the activities of Twickenham Cycling
Club and acknowledge that I have been advised as to the nature of the
club’s activities.
……………………………… will take part in these activities
entirely at his/her own risk and without any liability whatsoever on
the part of Twickenham Cycling Club, its officials or members, in
respect of injury, loss or damage suffered by him/her however caused,
provided that this does not exclude the liability of any such party for
death or personal injury arising from that party’s negligence.I
acknowledge that in the event of an accident every effort will be made
to contact me as soon as possible.
2. I confirm that I have read and brought to the attention
of …………………………………… the content of the Twickenham Cycling Club Training
Rides Safety Guidelines and that he/she understands the meaning and
intent of these guidelines.
3. I understand that it is my
responsibility to ensure that the cycle used by ………………………………… is in a
safe condition to ride and a correctly fitted cycling helmet must be
worn at all times during the cycling activities, unless otherwise
advised.
4. I understand and do not object that some cycling
activities may be photographed or videoed for training purposes and, in
some cases, for display on the Club’s website and notice boards.
5. For all children under 12 years of age coaching sessions
take place at traffic-free facilities. Children between the ages of 12
and 16 may be invited to take part in activities on the public highway,
but this will depend on the view of the coach in respect of; the nature
of the activity, the ability and skill of the child, the fitness level
of the child, and the level of maturity of the child (being able to
take responsibility for their own actions). Young people of 16 and over
are permitted to attend club activities that take place on the public
highway.
Notes
a. It
is part of the British Cycling Code of Conduct to ensure that
reasonable steps are taken to establish a safe environment where young
people can enjoy developing their cycling skills.
b. Parents/carers are welcome to stay and watch the session but this is not compulsory.
c. Young
people are expected to remain in the session from beginning to end
unless they have to leave early. If the young person has to leave early
or is being collected by someone other than the parent/carer, the
parent/carer must advise the coach of the details of the arrangement,
including who will be collecting the rider.
d. It is the young person’s
responsibility to participate in cycling activities in a sporting
manner. Any young riders who persistently misbehave or put others in
danger will be asked to leave the session.
