We meet at the TCC Club House every Tuesday at 5:15pm & will either leave for an activity at 5:30pm or start an indoor activity, depending on weather and daylight hours. In the lighter months the outdoor activity may start at 6:30pm. There is a small charge for the sessions, 50p for members and £1 for non-members.
On lighter evenings, when the sun sets after 7:30pm, Twickenham junior and advanced youth rides leave the club at 6:30 pm & follow quiet back roads up to Richmond Hill, where riders will either enter the Richmond Park or cycle hill loops on quiet roads. These are suitable for stronger riders aged 14+ and Juniors.
There is a ride from outside the clubroom 9:00am Saturday to the Fairoaks Airport, GU24 8HU. Juniors and 14+ (younger if accompanied by a parent). Average pace will be around 15mph with group riding skills & sprint points in the park to work on tactics & group dynamics.
Our sessions include training rides, skills, turbo training, bike maintenance & trips to cycling venues like Calshot Velodrome, Swinley Forest mountain biking trails and local BMX tracks. Once our youngsters are competent at handling themselves and their bikes they are able to join the Saturday morning rides and by the time they are Junior (17-18) we would normally expect them to be joining the senior sessions.
