London Youth Games

At the recent London Youth Games Finals at Crystal Palace, the Richmond Cycling Team, supported by Twickenham CC, came 10th in the Juvenile event, made it to Silver in the Junior Event and achieved 4th overall out of 33 Boroughs.  Our best result since we started competing and we just missed a bronze medal by only one point!!!

Our Teams - The Juveniles

Henry Dawson - Teddington School & Hillingdon Slipstreamers.
Ben Mariorty - Orleans Park School
Isabel Chant - Waldegrave Girls
Joe Newbold - Teddington School
Zoe Ronaldson - Teddington School - Travelling Reserve and Voluneer Support Crew.

The Juniors

Rory Atkins - Twickenham CC
Max Robinson - Twickenham CC
Jonny Ross Tatum - Twickenham
Daniel Kent - Twickenham CC

The Support Crew - Marcus Atkins - Team Manager, Martin Dawson - Team Coach, Jonathan Rowlands - Coach and Mechanic, Tom Sutherland - Team mini-bus driver.

Our 4th place in the cycling helped the Borough to achieve 4th place overall across all sports, the best result since the games started. This was a fantastic achievement and it's all thanks to the efforts of all our young riders and the work put in by our support team.  Also thanks to the parents who came out to give our teams so much encouragement.

All these young riders will be bigger and stronger by next year and should make it onto the podium in 2011
